Like the mountains of my birthplace in Western Pennsylvania and the photographs by Russell Lee, the stories and themes of these songs are the same as those from generations before. There's really nothing new or different here except in the style and manner in which the stories are conveyed. They're about birth and death and everything in-between, including loving, sharing, betrayal, winning, loosing, working, worshipping, getting by, and once in a while having an opportunity to celebrate life.
