Throughout the 70's, Mike Hamilton toured as a solo act opening for Earl Scruggs, Papa John Creach, and Phoebe Snow, to name a few. In the early 80's, Mike moved to the Washington, DC area, formed the bands DESIRE and NO DOUBT, recorded the NO DOUBT/CRYPTO album featuring his original music and founded the Joe Bag O' Donuts music publishing company. In the next decade, he turned his talents to producing and engineering, serving as chief engineer for Roar Studios in Columbia, Maryland, and founding his own production company, Big House Productions, through which he produced a variety of projects for both independent and regional label releases. With Mike's first acoustic release, BEGGARS & POETS, he returns to his first love... writing and performing heartfelt folk and bluegrass music about the troubles and triumphs of men and women and the TRAVELIN' SOULs within us all.
